Questions
Frequently asked questions
Short answers for buyers, administrators, and people taking a Ranx survey.
Product
What is Ranx?
Ranx is employee survey software for People teams. People rank what matters most to them; Ranx turns that into what to fix first, recommends initiatives for leaders to choose from, and shows whether they worked and what to ask next.
How is Ranx different from a survey builder?
Most survey tools stop at a dashboard. Ranx keeps going: it shows what to fix first and why, helps leaders choose and assign the fixes, checks whether things got better, and suggests what to ask in the next survey.
How does Ranx decide what to fix first?
Each person first puts the survey's categories in order of importance to them, then rates them. Their order sets their own weights, so a low score counts by how much it matters to the person who gave it. Ranx turns that into one ordered list, and lowers a priority when people disagree widely. See the Ranx method.
We already run an annual engagement survey. Why add Ranx?
Keep it. Ranx doesn't need to replace anything to start. An annual survey tells you how people feel once a year; Ranx works the months in between with a short quarterly pulse. People put what matters in order, so in about three weeks you know what to fix first. Each fix gets an owner, and the next pulse shows whether it moved, months before your next annual results. See how a pulse pilot runs.
How much of our time does a pilot take?
By our estimate, about 7 hours of the program owner's time over the 90 days for a quarterly pulse: most of it on day one, setting up and launching, and around day 30, choosing what to act on with your leaders. The time your owners spend on the improvements themselves depends on what you choose. The pilot plan shows the estimate for each step.
Who is Ranx for?
People and HR teams who want to keep good people: Ranx shows what matters most to your employees, what to fix first, and whether the fix worked. The same method runs customer, patient, learner, and research surveys too.
Playbooks
What are Ranx playbooks?
Playbooks are ready-to-run listening programs for common questions, such as the Quarterly Engagement Pulse, manager effectiveness, onboarding, exit, and benefits prioritization. Each one comes with its survey, audience, cadence, and what you need to launch it. The playbooks on this site are the same ones in the app.
Can visitors try playbooks before buying?
Yes. You can take any playbook's survey exactly as your respondents will see it, starting with the ranking, and explore Decivium, the Ranx demonstration company, before you sign up.
Can we start our pilot on a particular playbook?
Yes. Choose Start a pilot on that playbook's page and check out. Once your workspace is set up, Ranx opens it on that playbook.
Taking a Survey
How do people get the survey?
By email, text message, link, or QR code, on every plan. Text messages are billed per message; the rest cost nothing extra.
Can people answer on a phone?
Yes. The whole survey, ranking included, works on a phone, from an email or text link or a QR code.
Data and Privacy
Where can I read about privacy and terms?
The official pages are Privacy, Terms, Security, Subprocessors, DPA, and Cookies.
Does Ranx sell Customer Data?
No. The public Privacy Policy and Terms state that Ranx does not sell Customer Data and does not use customer content to train public or general-purpose AI models unless explicitly agreed in writing.
Can this website see my organization's data?
No. This website only shows public content. Your workspace data, survey results, and connected-system data stay inside the Ranx app, behind its access controls.
How does Ranx protect respondent confidentiality?
Ranx reports results as group totals, hides groups below a minimum size (at least 5, and you can set it higher), and adds safeguards that make it hard to work out who said what. For employee, patient, and student surveys, and research panels drawn from a named list, groups below the minimum aren't shown; customer and public research results can show at any count. These safeguards greatly reduce the risk of identifying someone, but no system can promise it's impossible in every situation.
Can leaders see analysis for every group?
No. Each leader sees results only for the part of the organization they're responsible for, and only for groups that meet the minimum size your account sets. For employee, patient, and student surveys, and research panels drawn from a named list, a group needs at least 5 responses before its results appear, and your account can require more.
Subscriptions
Can I subscribe online?
Yes. Choose Starter, Pro, or Business on the Pricing page and check out securely with Stripe; you set up your workspace right after paying. Add-ons you choose in the plan builder are part of the same checkout, and you can add more in Account Admin any time. Enterprise starts with a conversation, and you can always talk to us first.
Who can create or administer a workspace?
A person purchasing, creating, provisioning, or administering a workspace must be authorized to purchase Ranx for that organization and authorize Ranx to process workspace data and connected source-system data under the Terms and Privacy Policy.
